Tribal body Art opened in May 1996 with an emphasis on quality and customer care. Currently we have four tattooists, and two piercers, one of whom is also a jewellery maker and a tattoo laser removal system. We also have room for guest artists. We can help you realise your ideas into a finished tattoo. Send ideas to our email address or pop into the shop with your ideas for a chat. You can also browse our previous works on this site, facebook or instagram. Typically we tattoo larger pieces in two to three hour sessions. Clients can become exhausted and the skin not take the ink so well after 3 hours. We can accommodate longer sessions if required. Our standard rate for tattoos is £40 minimum charge and £80 per hour. For 3 hour sessions our rate goes down to £70 per hour. Longer sessions are priced at £60 per hour.
The 1969 tattooing of minors act prohibits tattooing anybody under the age of eighteen, we will not tattoo anybody under eighteen years old, no exceptions
. The current licensing for tattoo and piercing studios in Scotland states that as persons under the age of sixteen are minors they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to consent for them to be pierced. Our age restrictions policy is based partly on the conditions of our license:
- No services under fourteen
- Fourteen and fifteen, most piercings (not nipple or genital or dermal implants) must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian (not a random stranger you picked up on Hunters square or Greyfriars Kirk!)
- Sixteen, you can consent for most piercings (not female nipple or genital) you must bring valid I.D. as proof of age
- Eighteen, we will perform all piercings and tattoo most parts of your body (the exception being places where a tattoo cannot be concealed such as the hands or neck)
- Twenty five, no restrictions
Let's face it, sometimes we have a tattoo that we decide isn't "Me" anymore or we want to change our ink for something done better. Tattoos are not permanent. They can be lightened with a few sessions enabling a new piece to be done on top or completely removed. It just takes time, patience and a laser.
The small implants use near field communication (NFC) technology, the same as in contact less credit cards or mobile payments. When activated by a reader a few centimeters away, a small amount of data flows between the two devices via electromagnetic waves. The implants are "passive", meaning they contain information that other devices can read, but cannot read information themselves.
