Legalites

Age restrictions apply to our industry.

The 1969 tattooing of minors act prohibits tattooing anybody under the age of eighteen, though this is not widely enforced and there are some studios that will tattoo under age with parental consent.

It is not our policy to do this, we will not tattoo anybody under eighteen years.

The current licensing for tattoo and piercing studios in Scotland states that as persons under the age of sixteen are minors they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to consent for them to be pierced.

Our age restrictions policy is based partly on the conditions of our license.

  • No services under fourteen
  • Fourteen and fifteen, most piercings (not nipple or genital or dermal implants) must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian (not a random stranger you picked up on Hunters square or Greyfriars Kirk!)
  • Sixteen, you can consent for most piercings (not female nipple or genital) you must bring valid ID as proof of age.
  • Eighteen, we will perform all piercings and tattoo most parts of your body (the exception being places where a tattoo cannot be concealed such as the hands or neck)
  • Twenty five, no restrictions.
